What is the difference between manganese steel and carbon steel?

Manganese steel contains 30% manganese and has good mechanical strength. As a typical anti-wear steel, high manganese steel is an excellent material for crushing accessories in crushers. High manganese steel is hard and ductile.
High carbon steel is often called tool steel, mainly used for manufacturing cutting tools. The carbon content ranges from 0.6% to 1.7%. It is characterized by hardness and brittleness. It can be quenched. Hammers and crowbars are made of steel with a carbon content of 0.75%. Cutting tools such as drills, taps and reamers are made of steel with a carbon content of 0.9% to 1%.
The hardness of high carbon steel is high, and the hardness of high manganese steel (spring steel) is low, but the toughness is much better than that of high carbon steel. When the high carbon steel is subjected to the same strong impact, it is very likely that the high carbon steel will be broken. Therefore, in some large-scale screening equipment, manganese steel with certain toughness is used to make the screen, which greatly improves the screening efficiency and screen life.
